Driving introduction from Helsinki
Follow Helsinki-Lahti motorway E75/4 past Heinola to Lusi 144 km.
From Lusi follow the same road (E75/4) through Joutsa to Viisarimäki (just before Toivakka) 93 km. At Viisarimäki turn right at sign Toivakka 4, Lievestuore 24, Kuopio 145 (road no. 618). Drive through centre of Toivakka 17.3 km to road no. 13. At T-junction turn towards Lievestuore on road no. 13; drive 6.5 km. At the T-junction at Lievestuore turn right at Kuopio 121 sign and drive along E63/9 71.0 km to Suonenjoki.
At Suonenjoki take road no. 548 towards Karttula 30.7 km. At the T-junction turn left on to road no. 551 and drive to the Hatunkivi (Karttula area) road junction 6.0 km. At Hatunkivi turn off road no. 551 and take road no. 554 right to Säviä 39.5 km.
Turn right at Säviä at sign for Kuopio 82, Pielavesi 9 (road no. 77) and drive 6.1 km. At sign to Iisalmi 58, Kiuruvesi 57, Pielavesi 4 turn left and drive 2.7 km along Urho Kekkosentie road no. 5572 (beside this road is Urho Kekkonen’s birthplace, “Lepikon torppa”). At the T-junction turn left at sign for Iisalmi 54, Kiuruvesi 55. Stay on road no. 561 to Pajula 23.4 km. At sign to Nousiala 4 turn left and drive 4.0 km, then right at sign to Salmenkylä 5. (Koskentie). Drive straight on towards Rytky 10.0 km.
After the bridge drive 880 m ; then turn right on to main road from Kiuruvesi to Rytky (road no. 5613). Look for signs to Toiviaiskylä 7, Hoitokoti Rytkynhelmi, Kaarteenperäntie, to left. After turning drive 6.85 km. Look for sign to Lonkilan Lomat 75; Turn here left and drive 200 m. Stop car, you will have keys here.
